Privacy Policy

This page explains what SolSoft collects when you visit solsoft.org and what happens to it. The short version: not much, and none of it is sold.

Analytics

I use a basic analytics tool to see which articles get read and roughly where visitors come from (country and referring site). This tells me which guides are worth updating. The data is aggregated. I do not build profiles of individual readers and I do not try to identify you.

Cookies

SolSoft uses a small number of cookies. Some keep the site working (remembering that you dismissed a notice, for example) and some support the analytics described above. Your browser can block or delete cookies at any time; the site still works if you do, you just lose small conveniences.

Comments

If you leave a comment, the name and any details you type in the comment form are stored so the comment can be shown. Do not put private information in a comment. You can ask me to remove a comment you left.

The newsletter

There is an optional newsletter. If you sign up, your email address is used only to send you posts and occasional notes about the site. It is not shared. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address from the list. I do not collect email addresses in any other way.

Affiliate and outbound links

Some links to software or stores may be affiliate links, meaning I could earn a small commission if you buy something after clicking. This never changes what I recommend or what I write. Once you click through to another site, that site’s own privacy rules apply, not this one.

Your choices

You can browse without commenting or subscribing, block cookies in your browser, and ask me to delete a comment or newsletter address tied to you. Requests go through the contact form.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version replaces this one on the same page. Continued use of the site means the current version applies.
